Where has the time gone?! All of a sudden, it is the end of September. Ben in JB 55 has graduated AND started Culinary School this month! Congratulations, Ben!! We are so happy you found something you enjoy and have found a path.
JB 56 is finishing up their last week in the classroom and heading to the kitchen next week to join new instructor, Clare, in the second part of their journey! This week, they tested in Nutrition and ServSafe and are well on their way.
Speaking of Clare, you should see some of the fantastic new products she is bringing to the kitchen. Keep an eye out for Cream Puffs, gluten-free Chocolate caramel muffins, she revamped our peanut butter cookies to be made without flour and is working on another gluten-free cookie. Though our products are made in the same facility, we are getting a nice variety of products made without flour. She has added a Special Dietary Needs week in her curriculum in the kitchen where they will talk about what it means for baked goods when they are made without gluten, or even vegan (no eggs or butter), and using sugar substitutes for diabetic friendly and keto baked goods. From this came a new pie offering this year: Sugar-free Apple Pie made with sugar substitute (pre-order your pie for Thanksgiving here). (To order any of the items pictured below, click these links: Gluten-Sensitive Chocolate Muffin, Cinnamon Monkeybread, and Whoopie Pies)
We are entering the holiday season, so it is time to pre-order your pies! This year we have our classics (Caramel Apple, Pecan, and Pumpkin) as well as the new Sugar-free Apple, and a Chocolate Mousse. Pick-up/Delivery day will be Nov. 23rd, and we need all orders by Nov. 16th. Here is the pre-order link: Pre-Order Here. If you want a pie for a different day (because it doesn’t need to be a holiday to enjoy pie!), please email us at justbakery@justdane.org.
We are also offering our Cookie Decorating Kits! We have Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter, Christmas, and Hanukkah available- a dozen cookies with sprinkles and frosting! The weather is cooling down quickly and these are a great indoor activity!
The Taste of Madison was a great success this year! Here are some pics from the weekend!
